Description

Born on the day Bobby Thomson launched his “Short Heard ‘round the World,” Dave Winfield was destined for stardom and baseball’s biggest contract. In the third season (1983) of his turbulent career in the Bronx, Winfield brandished this 35.5”/34 oz. Adirondack DW20 black ash bat. The bat shows moderate to heavy use including a handle crack and a generous layer of pine tar on the handle. Full photo LOA from PSA/DNA which reads (in part): “After a thorough examination of this Dave Winfield professional model bat and its player use characteristics, it is our opinion the bat is authentic, and was used by Winfield during the referenced labeling period.” Note: A signature or notation has been removed from the front barrel.
