John F. Kennedy was assassinated on 11/22/63. Robert F. Kennedy was assassinated on 6/5/68. Ted Kennedy lived to tell, serving 47 years as a Senator from Massachusetts. One of the things Ted related was a personalized message to Walter Fauntroy, which he wrote on the title page of this 1968 first edition book "Decisions for a Decade". A Civil Rights leader who worked with Martin Luther King, Fauntroy was elected as the first Congressman to represent Washington DC in 1970. Purchased from Fauntroy's personal collection, the offered book reports in (EX-MT) condition and is covered by two identical dust jackets featuring photos of Ted Kennedy. The note penned by Kennedy on the book's title page reads "To Rev. Walter Fauntroy, Whose dedication to the struggle for equal rights helps to make a reality the hopes of my brothers". This handwritten passage is followed by Kennedy's ("7") strength autograph and the date inscription "3 December 1968". Full photo LOA from JSA.
