Description

In executive capacities, a Beantown fixture and a six-time World Series champion endorsed this 1934 player's contract securing the services of catcher Ed Connolly. While Connolly managed a paltry .178 career batting average over parts of four big league seasons, the aforementioned legends who signed the contract need little introduction! On the appropriate lines at the bottom of the 8 x 10-7/16" thin stock document, Boston Red Sox owner Thomas Yawkey (d.1976) has signed in black-ink steel tip fountain pen ("9-10" strength). Just to the right, Yawkey's longtime friend and BoSox General Manager Eddie Collins (d.1951) has signed in blue-ink steel tip fountain pen ("10" strength). The crisp contract is well preserved with normal compacting folds that do not affect the magnificent signatures. Accompanying is a full photo LOA from JSA.
