Paying tribute to World Series participants and newly enshrined Hall of Famers, Kentucky’s famed Hillerich & Bradsby plant has annually issued commemorative bats. Over the decades, the Dodgers have been frequent recipients of these souvenirs produced in limited quantities. This lot of (3) such keepsakes includes:
1959 World Series Black Bat: a 35” display model with a black “Smith” finish and gold-colored name stampings (facsimile signatures for those under contract with H&B, block-letter stampings for those who were not). Headlining the listing of (32) names are Alston, Drysdale, Hodges, Koufax, Reese and Snider. The Fall Classic memento shows (EX) quality with minor wear about the barrel.
1966 World Series Black Bat: a 35” keepsake with (33) names including: Alston, Drysdale, Koufax and Sutton. Presents (EX-MT).
Pee Wee Reese 1984 Hall of Fame Brown Bat: a 34” signature model with the recently introduced “Louisville Slugger” center brand. The barrel is home to an H&B “100 Years” logo stamping and an “August 12, 1984” engraving. Presents minimally at the (EX-MT) plateau.
